Onavo Insights requires each analyzed app to achieve a high degree of statistical significance. If you cannot find a specific app, the app has not achieved a high enough statistical significance to be included in Onavo Insights. Please check back for your app's inclusion in Onavo Insights. You can also contact us if you believe your app was inadvertently omitted.
Monthly Activity is obtained by calculating the number of a given app's monthly active US iPhone users as a percent of overall US monthly active iPhone users.
Onavo AppRank™ is calculated by creating an index to compare all apps' actual monthly activities. The index values are then used to rank all apps according to their popularity in terms of their actual usage.
To gauge User Engagement, Onavo Insights calculates the average number of days per month each app is used. The User Engagement averages of all apps are then evaluated in an interquartile range (IQR). User Engagement averages that fall in the lower quartile (25%) are qualified as "Low." User Engagement averages that fall in the median quartile (75%) are qualified as "Medium," and User Engagements that fall in the upper quartile (100%) are qualified as "High."
App Retention is gauged by evaluating the average number of 1st time app users in a given month that go on to use the same app the following month. These App Retention averages are then evaluated in an interquartile range (IQR). App Retention averages in the lowest quartile (25%) are qualified as "Low," those that fall in the median quartile (75%) are qualified as "Medium," and those that fall in the upper quartile (100%) are qualified as "High."
To create Correlating Apps, Onavo Insights analyzes the degrees of relatedness among all apps in the app landscape, determining which apps are significantly more likely to be used by a given app's users than others. This data is then used to reveal a given apps' highest correlating apps.
Onavo Insights is powered by anonymized mobile data aggregated from Onavo's blockbuster apps, enabling Onavo Insights' users to benefit, for the first time, from real usage data across millions of mobile devices in over a hundred countries. Onavo Insights is not dependent on SDKs or integrations.
